"This 'Reploid' is years ahead of his time..." Wily mumbled, not looking up from his work.
Bass smiled down at X, who was still unconscious. "He doesn't look so tough to me. Looks more like....uhh....wimp." He impatiently paced the floor, and finally sat down in a reclining chair. "Doc, what do you think your Reploid's gonna look like?"
"What did you say, Bass?" Wily asked.
"I said, 'SO - DOC, - WHAT - DO - YOU - THINK - YOUR - REPLOID - IS - GONNA - LOOK - LIKE!?' What's the matter? you losin' your hearing or something?" Bass said with a chuckle.
Wily growled softly and said, "All right, I'm done copying his design...."
Bass clapped his hands. "OKAY, - SO - NOW - WHAT - DO - WE - DO - WITH - HIM?!" he yelled.
"Well, I would LIKE to run a few more tests....." Wily gave Bass a 'look' that said, "Why don't you LEAVE already?"
Bass made his bottom lip quiver as he folded his arms across his chest dejectedly. "Fine. I know when I'm not wanted. See if I ever help YOU up those stairs again!" Bass turned on his heels and marched to his bedroom. He plopped down on his bed, and pushed his face into the pillow.
Bass's room was covered in old movie posters, mostly of Scream 1, 2, 3, and 4. A large cobra's head decorated the wall above his bed. Bass's room was his pride and joy. He had worked very hard to get Wily to let him put up the cobra, and all in all, his room was his favorite place to be, aside from a city with screaming, terrified people.
Bass suddenly felt something jump onto his back. He jerked his head from the pillow and screamed. He felt something wet being slowly dragged down the back of his neck, followed by a soft whimper. He flew out of his bed, and stared at the 'thing'.
"Treble! Don't scare me like that again, ya dumb dog. Hehehe."
Bass felt the back of his neck, and sure enough......dog slobber. He sat back down on his bed, next to Treble.
"I can't wait until Wily's Reploid is created..." Bass told Treble, as he scratched between the pup's ears.
Treble growled quietly.
"Hey! None of that. What's your problem?"
Treble began to whimper.
"Treble, could it be you are JEALOUS of that Reploid Wily is going to build?"
***Growl***
"Treble! I'm counting on you to help me train him! Please?" Bass found this quite amusing, but did not show it. "Daddy would never forget about his Treble."
Treble wagged his tail and made happy squeaks. Then he leaped into Bass's arms, and showered him in puppy kisses.
"YEEEEEOOOOOOUUUUCCCHH!!!!!!"
X cried, as he was jolted out of dreamland by a few
hundred volts of electricity. "What
the hell was that?!" X looked around him, and saw an
old man in a lab coat, holding two electrodes and
smiling mischieviously.
"Who are you and why do you insist on frying my brain?"
The man set down the electrodes and said, "Hello, X. I am Dr. Wily. I'm sure you've heard of me from your family. Do you remember what happened?"
Boom. The realization of where he was, what had happened, and the fact that Dr. Wily was standing next to him, hit him like ANOTHER volt of electricity. His eyes grew wide. Two words floated through X's mind:
X easily broke the through the restraints and made a mad dash for the door.
"Hey Doc! You've been awfully quiet up here..." Shade Man said sarcastically. "What was that scream? Are you KILLING him or wha---" as he stepped through the door to the lab, he was knocked off balance by what looked like a blue blur. He fell on his rear, and rubbed his head. "What the heck..........???" Shade noticed X on te floor next to him, and at once leaped to his feet. X did also.
Dr. Wily jumped up and down, yelling,
"Get him!! GET HIM!!! GET HIM!!!
Shade Man lunged at X, and had time to
hit him once, before X blasted Shade Man across the
room.
Shade sat leaning against the wall. A
tall cloud of smoke rose from his burned wings. His
pale white complexion was now a scorched black mess.
Shade was able to mutter one
word before he passed out:
X practically flew out the door of the lab, and down the stairs. He noticed all of the Wily bots gathered in the hallway, but they seemed preoccupied. X easily brushed past them and out the door.
He never stopped running until he was at least a good five miles from Skull Castle. X fell to his knees and gasped for breath. He was truly surprised that it was so easy to get out of Skull Castle.
A disturbing thought crossed X's mind, and he removed his helmet. As he feared, his hair was spiked, due to the electric shock earlier.
"Well that tears it. I'm never taking off my helmet again."
X once more got to his feet and ran back to Dr. Light's lab.
